Summer is by far the best time for fruit. We got watermelon, peaches, all the berries, cherries, passion fruit, apricots, and so much more just sitting perfectly to be harvested and eaten right away. As someone who’s kind of enamored with idea of eating seasonally, it totally makes sense why there’s so many songs about summer fruits.

I mean, think about it too: fruit metaphors are super hot. Like 9 times out of 10 that a song that uses a fruit metaphor is very much a hot song. Not to mention the simple pleasure of the first bite of a perfectly ripe fruit.

So, in an effort to make the perfect playlist for you to be your hot self as you take the perfect first bite of these seasonal fruits, I’ve made a fruit salad playlist if you will. The vibes here are as fresh as literally any in season fruit right now.

If there was a song that represented the anachronistic optimism towards the healing I went through during summer 2020, it would be this one. It’s a joyful song that just makes you want to dance around as a way to proclaim “yeah I’ve been through it but things are looking up!”

Cherry Wine – Live by Hozier

Hozier as an artist literally feels like a folktale. Every time he drops music it’s otherworldly and just so indisputably beautiful. Perhaps a classic example of his ethereal music, Cherry Wine makes you want to sit in a forest and just be one with nature.

honeydew blue by 800 Cherries

I found this vibey track while looking up songs that had honeydew in the title and it did not disappoint. It’s shoegaze-y, catchy and it feels like a bite of sweet and crisp honeydew melon.

Cutie by COIN

I can’t stop listening to this song. Especially after seeing COIN in concert recently and going SO hard to this one, all I want to do is feel the euphoria in this song. You could make the argument that this song’s soundtracking my lil summer dating experiences. Because yeah, a lot could happen between now and never. 😉
