Wowowowow 7 years of this blog today. Honestly, for the first time, I don’t really know what to say.

This blog has had so many iterations but this current one feels like a real documentation of what a huge part of my life has been. Especially since I finished my Saturn Return soundtrack, I’ve been feeling very grateful for the way I can reference chapters of my life by the music I was posting about, even when I struggle to remember how my thought life changed over time.

Truthfully, this blog has existed as my one space where I’m free to share my inner world and make sense of how I’ve been growing. And that’s been the number one reason I’ve stayed with it. At this point it feels like a responsibility to myself to carve out this space once a month and just be free to talk about the ways music meets me in the middle of something I’m trying to understand.

But in the pursuit of that (and with the limited brain space I’ve been handling these days), I’ve not been particularly ambitious about anything related to the blog. For years, I’ve had dreams about doing events and coordinating music discovery. And I have been scheming, especially as I consider what my work life might look like as I move to London in a couple years. But for now, I need to focus on the core storytelling of this blog, with the knowledge that it’s always waiting for me to try something new when I’m ready.

My future is shaping up to be very exciting and interesting, but I’m very firmly in the building phase of it. There’s so much more to come, and I for one am excited to share what this building phase is sounding like next.

Happy 7 years, see you in year 8.

❤️ Kelly
